My name is Aung Kyaw Chi (Anjo) founder and developer at Taskpunter. I have worked as a programmer, bioinformatician and data scientist and have over a decade of experience. I have worked at Cold Spring Harbor Labs, Stanford University, and more recently at Singularity University. I have also acted as a consultant at Sirona Genomics, now part of Immucor.
I have recently taken the step to take everything I've learned and move forward as an entrepreneur. I have gone global! I have recently relocated myself from Silicon Valley back to where I was born: Burma/Myanmar. Although I spend much of my time here I straddle two worlds. One of cutting edge technology and one just beginning to embrace technological development.
I was born in Burma but left as a child and grew up in New York City. I’ve come back to a country whose language I can barely speak. Burma has changed dramatically since my family left almost 40 years ago. I’ve returned to a country with a new government, a country full of optimism and hope for a better future, a country that is leaving behind a legacy of isolation, poverty and poor governance.
It is my hope that by bringing my knowledge and expertise here I can play a part in shaping the development of a wold class technology sector here in Myanmar.
